At a political event held in Budapest, Spanish leader Santiago Abascal publicly thanked Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for his use of the veto within the European Union to curb initiatives linked to illegal immigration from Africa and the Middle East.
The meeting was attended by other important figures from the European right, including Marine Le Pen, Geert Wilders and Matteo Salvini. During the event, explicit support was expressed for Orbán's leadership ahead of the next elections in Hungary, scheduled for April 12
.The leaders present expressed their support for the Hungarian Prime Minister, whom they consider to be a benchmark for secure borders and national sovereignty.

Abascal defined him as “a true protector of Europe”, highlighting his position in the face of external pressures and his defense of what he described as the interests of
the Hungarian people.In recent years, Orbán has become a figure vindicated by the European right thanks to his strong opposition to irregular immigration and for prioritizing national policies.
