The governor of Mendoza, Alfredo Cornejo, issued a clear warning: without a solid judicial system, there is no possible economic development.
He did so during the opening of the National Conference of the Federal Forum of Judicial Councils (Fofecma), where he stated that Justice is not a secondary aspect, but a central part of the functioning of the country.
Justice as the basis for Cornejo's growth
was direct. He noted that legal certainty is an indispensable condition for progress.
He explained that efficient justice allows contracts to be enforced, rights to be exercised and that there are clear rules.
Without that framework, he argued, development becomes fragile or directly unfeasible.
An “invisible support” of the economy
The governor defined the judicial system as an “invisible support”.
This structure, as he explained, is what guarantees predictability in the economy.
When it works properly, it can attract investment and consolidate growth.
The key role of the Cornejo Judicial Councils
also focused on the bodies responsible for
selecting judges. He described them as fundamental actors to ensure transparency and institutional quality.
The stability of the system depends, to a large extent, on its operation.
