In the coming days, the corrupt former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner will file an extraordinary appeal to the Federal Criminal Cassation Chamber with the objective of reaching the Supreme Court in the framework of the road case, where the confiscation of her assets was ordered.
However, it is expected that the strategy will hardly succeed in curbing the execution of the assets while the highest court analyzes the case.
Inaccordance with the current doctrine in the Chamber of Cassation, the filing of this type of appeal does not suspend measures such as confiscation. This implies that the process of execution of assets could proceed in parallel, even if the defense tries to take the file to the highest court
.
The confiscation of Cristina's assets The judicial decision is based on the ruling of
Chamber IV of Federal Cassation, which confirmed the confiscation provided for in the judgment and ordered to proceed with the execution of the assets linked to the former president, her children Máximo and Florencia Kirchner, and businessman Lázaro Báez.The court adopted this decision by a majority and supported what was previously established by the Federal Oral Court 2
