Former President Cristina Kirchner testified this Tuesday in the trial for the Notebooks of Corruption in the courts of Comodoro Py.

The former president is accused of having led an illegal association dedicated to collecting bribes from businessmen who benefited from public works contracts during her administration.

During his investigation, he decided not to answer questions and limited himself to making a presentation in which he harshly questioned judges and prosecutors.

Criticism of prosecutors and the judicial investigation

In her statement, Cristina Kirchner especially pointed to prosecutor Carlos Stornelli, who was in charge of the investigation during the investigation stage

.

The former president argued that businessmen were pressured to testify against her and described the cause as “nonsense”.

He also said that it is difficult for him to trust the functioning of judicial institutions.

“I can die in prison”, the phrase that marked his statement

One of the strongest moments of his presentation was when he warned:

“With this Judicial Power I can die

in prison”.

The phrase reflected his position in the face of the progress of the judicial process against him and his critical vision of the justice system.

After finishing his speech, he asked to leave the courtroom and did not remain to hear the statements of other defendants.

Distance with Julio De Vido in court

On the same day, former Planning Minister Julio De Vido was also due to testify.

The two met in Comodoro Py's AMIA room, but they didn't greet each other, despite having shared years of management and political closeness during Kirchnerism.

The gesture reflected the current distance between two of the main figures of the previous government.

Criticism of Javier Milei's government

During her presentation, Cristina Kirchner also took aim at President Javier Milei

.

The former president argued that the head of state violated the Constitution by publicly referring to his judicial situation during the opening of regular sessions of Congress.

These statements show the continuity of the political confrontation between Kirchnerism and the current government.

The closing: “This case is a great nonsense”

At the end of her statement, Cristina Kirchner once again questioned the judicial

case.

“I honestly think this case is a great nonsense,” he told the judges before retiring.

In addition, he maintained that he will answer questions the day when, according to his vision, other actors he considers responsible for crimes are investigated.

Return to her home and support from her environment

After going to court, the former president returned to her home on San José Street, where she is under house arrest

.

During the day, she was accompanied by her son, Máximo Kirchner, and leaders of her political space.

The presence of militants was also registered in the immediate vicinity of his home.

A key trial for corruption in Argentina

The Cuadernos case is one of the most relevant cases linked to alleged acts of corruption in public works during the Kirchner governments

.

The judicial process continues to move forward while the statements of the various defendants are developing.
