The Iranian terrorist regime's navy deliberately attacked a commercial vessel flying the Thai flag this Wednesday.

A Thai-flagged cargo ship was heavily affected in a new series of attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, a key maritime gateway for global oil transport. The incident occurred while the ship was sailing about 11 nautical miles north of Oman, where it was hit by projectiles that caused a fire on board and forced

a rapid rescue operation.

According to the Thai navy, all 23 crew members of the ship managed to be evacuated alive after the attack. Emergency teams came to the scene to control the fire and assist the crew, while maritime authorities began to investigate the incident

.

Iran assured that the ship had ignored previous warnings before entering the area, and so it claimed to have acted accordingly. However, the attack has generated international concern due to the risk it poses to commercial navigation on one of the most important energy routes on the planet

.

The Strait of Hormuz connects the Persian Gulf with the Arabian Sea and approximately 20% of the oil traded worldwide passes through it. For this reason, any attack against vessels in this area has an immediate impact on maritime security and international energy markets

In addition to the Thai vessel, two other commercial vessels were also hit at different points nearby. A Japanese-flagged container ship was hit about 25 miles off the coast of the United Arab Emirates, although it suffered only minor damage and no injuries were reported among the crew. A third ship was also hit about 50 miles northwest of Dubai

.

These incidents come amid strong military escalation in the region since late last month, when Israel and the United States attacked strategic targets in Iran. Since then, tensions have increased considerably and maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has decreased considerably for security reasons

.

According to maritime security reports, there have already been at least 13 suspicious attacks against ships in the Gulf since the beginning of the conflict. Experts warn that these actions put at risk not only civilian crews, but also the stability of global trade

The repercussions have also been felt in the energy market. The price of oil has experienced strong variations in recent days, reaching close to 120 dollars per barrel before falling again. Faced with the possibility of a prolonged interruption of oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz, the International Energy Agency announced the release of 400 million barrels of oil from the strategic reserves of 32 countries to

stabilize global supply.

Meanwhile, the conflict is spreading to other fronts in the region. Iran has launched drone and missile attacks against several targets in Gulf countries, including energy facilities in Saudi Arabia and areas near Dubai International Airport. At the same time, Israel carried out bombings against Hezbollah group positions

in Lebanon.

The situation has generated concern among the main industrialized countries. G7 leaders reported that they are evaluating the possibility of organizing escort missions to protect commercial ships that cross the Strait of Hormuz, a measure that seeks to prevent new attacks and ensure the continuity of

maritime trade.

For now, the attack on the Thai vessel has become one of the most serious incidents recorded in this new phase of the conflict, evidencing the high level of risk faced by civilian vessels operating in the area. Maritime authorities are constantly monitoring the strait while concern is growing about a possible major escalation in the region
