The president of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, is at the center of a growing political controversy following reports that he may have submitted his resignation to the country's supreme terrorist leader, Mojtaba Jamenei, amid internal tensions caused by the regional war and the increasing prominence of military sectors within the regime.
The version was published by the opposition outlet ''Iran International'', which cited an informed source stating that Pezeshkian had sent a resignation letter in which he warned about the loss of influence of his government in the country's strategic decisions.
According to the report, the president stated that since the beginning of the war with the United States and Israel in February, his administration has been sidelined from the main decision-making centers and that effective control of the state has passed into the hands of the commanders of the Revolutionary Guard.
If confirmed, the resignation would constitute one of the most significant political events in Iran in recent years and would highlight the existing tensions within the power structure of the Islamic Republic. The content of the letter describes a situation in which civil institutions have been relegated in favor of military and security agencies, which have gained even greater influence since the onset of the regional conflict.

The official response was swift. Mehdi Tabatabaei, deputy communications director of the presidential office, categorically rejected the reports and labeled the rumors as false. In a message posted on the social network X, he assured that Pezeshkian continues to perform his duties normally and maintains his commitment to the country.
''The president will not back down in his service to the Iranian people,'' stated the official, who also accused certain foreign media of promoting campaigns aimed at sowing internal divisions and weakening national unity at a time of great uncertainty.
