President Javier Milei will travel to Hungary this Thursday to meet with right-wing Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and support him ahead of the country's parliamentary elections, which will depend on whether Orbán remains in power or if the Parliament elects a new first leftist minister aligned with the European Union. Within this framework, the Argentine president is preparing to participate as keynote speaker in a new edition of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) to be held in Hungary, where he will once again meet Viktor Orbán, one of the world's leading leaders of the new right.

The two leaders were publicly together for the first time a few weeks ago, when they met in Washington D.C. for the inaugural meeting of the Peace Board launched by Donald Trump. According to official sources, the libertarian will leave for Europe on Friday to arrive on time for the summit, which will take place throughout Saturday.

In this way, Javier Milei will travel abroad again after his last tour, which he starred just a few days ago and which took him to the United States and Spain, where he participated in the Madrid Economic Forum and held a meeting with Santiago Abascal, leader of the local VOX party.

The CPAC is a conference of American origin that has expanded its reach in recent years, organizing editions in different countries. In 2024, the event debuted in Argentina with Javier Milei as keynote speaker at the Hilton Hotel in Puerto Madero. This is an annual meeting that seeks to discuss and promote conservative values, mainly in the United States, and involves the participation of political figures of global relevance

.

When it takes place in North American territory, Donald Trump himself usually attends, but when it is done in other countries it is not common for the Republican to appear and this would be no exception, since he is not on the list of participants.

On this occasion, meanwhile, global leaders of conservatism and liberalism are confirmed, including Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and US congressmen such as Russ Fulcher.

For his part, the host president, Viktor Orbán, participated as a central figure in the previous edition and is expected to repeat his presence this year, so there could be a meeting —even if it's informal— with Javier Milei, if he ever comes back. At the Peace Meeting, Javier Milei sat next to the Hungarian, with whom he was seen chatting amicably and interacting closely. The event is always organized by a local entity and in this case it is the think tank Center for Fundamental Rights (Alapjogokért Központ)

that took care of everything.

In the 2025 edition, which was also held in Hungary, the Argentine ruling party was already represented by the former Secretary of Worship and Civilization Nahuel Sotelo and the deputy Santiago Santurio. The last intervention of the Argentine president in a CPAC was the one he made in September of last year in Paraguay, in which he defended the direction of the Government and questioned

the previous administrations.

“Thank God, two years ago Argentines chose to change. They decided to say enough to the misery and in December 2023 they elected a liberal-libertarian as president to implement a process of profound reform that at this point was already being cried out.

And thanks to that mandate that we committed ourselves to strictly fulfilling, we implemented a fiscal, monetary and exchange plan that began to bear important fruits,” said Javier Milei at the time.

In addition, the president plunged headlong into the political arena and remarked that “it is important to understand that there are no third paths on this path”, since, in his opinion, “any moderate option, in many quotation marks, is functional to the decadent system”.

“Fortunately, if Argentina grows and our people accompany us in the elections, we will be able to do great things with the Paraguayan people, from whose example we have a lot to learn. In fact, as faithful supporters of market freedom, we believe that each of our nations has a lot to contribute to the other, since it is through cooperation and voluntary exchange that peoples grow and

prosper,” he added.
