Argentine President Javier Milei said that the war linked to Iran does not respond to a dispute over energy resources but to a geopolitical strategy promoted by the United States.
In an interview with FM Now (97.7), the president considered that interpreting the conflict as a fight for oil is “conceptually very poor and wrong”.
As he explained, the American perspective aims to consolidate its political and strategic influence in the American continent and combat international terrorism.
“The United States' approach is exclusively geopolitical,” said the head of state when analyzing the escalation of war in the Middle East.
Milei backed Trump for curbing the Iranian nuclear program
.During the interview, the Argentine president also defended the position of the US president, Donald Trump, against the
Iranian nuclear program.According to Milei, the Iranian regime was making progress in enriching uranium and was close to obtaining military nuclear capacity.

“If it weren't for President Trump's courage, Iran would have achieved military power with the risk that implies for the world
,” he said. The Argentine president also accused the Iranian regime of financing international terrorism and noted that its influence in Latin America is manifested through alliances with governments such as those of Cuba and Venezuela.
A conflict that could be limited in scope
Milei estimated that the war in the Middle East could last relatively short
.In his opinion, the current scenario will generate temporary turbulence in the world economy, but will then cause a global political reordering.
