The president of Christian Lawyers in Spain, Polonia Castellanos, reported that the hospital pushed to move forward with the euthanasia of the young Noelia Castillo Ramos because “their organs were already compromised”, in the context of the controversial case that quickly went viral around the world.
According to Castellanos, when in August 2024 they obtained the first precautionary measures to stop the procedure, the health center informed the young woman's mother that they could not postpone it due to the situation related to organ donation.
“What his mother told us is that when we won the first precautionary measures, what they tell him is that 'you can't do that because we already had all your organs compromised. ' They tell you this from the hospital. This is what the mother tells us and that is what makes her mother make her daughter sign that she does not want to donate the organs,” said the lawyer during an interview.

The complaint adds a new element to a case that was already generating controversy. Noelia, 25, was left with irreversible paraplegia after attempting suicide in 2022, after being the victim of gang rape by illegal immigrants in a juvenile center where she was under state guardianship
.What had the most impact in this whole case is the fact that the Spanish State itself, which at the time did not protect the victim and abandoned her, now gives her the option of taking her own life.
The organization that represents the young woman's father also pointed out that the decision to move forward with euthanasia was influenced by proposals made in the hospital environment.
