The Bolivian Police arrested Uruguayan drug trafficker Sebastián Marset this Tuesday during an operation carried out in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
The arrest occurred in the Las Palmas neighborhood during the early morning, after a police deployment that began around 2:30 in the morning.
Although the Bolivian government has not yet released an official report, police sources confirmed the capture of the drug trafficker.
Marset was considered one of the most wanted criminals in South America.
Operational with specialized forces
The procedure was carried out by agents of the Special Force to Combat Drug Trafficking and by members of the Police Operations Tactical Unit (
UTOP).During the operation, the police entered a house located in the neighborhood where the suspect was located.
Images released by local media show heavily armed agents guarding several people in detention.
According to reports, four individuals were arrested along with Marset, allegedly members of his security team.
