The FIFA officially announced the sanctions against the Argentine National Team following the investigation initiated due to various incidents that occurred during the 2026 World Cup.
The main punishment fell on Leandro Paredes, who was suspended for 10 matches with the "Albiceleste" and received a financial penalty of 90,000 dollars. The sanction must be served in the upcoming commitments of the Argentine team.
Nahuel Molina was also punished, facing seven matches of suspension and an additional 90,000 dollars fine.
Meanwhile, Thiago Almada received a one-match suspension and a 30,000 dollars fine, while Roberto Ayala, a member of Lionel Scaloni's coaching staff, was sanctioned with three matches and a financial penalty of 30,000 dollars.
Argentina will play with 50% capacity
The FIFA also imposed a direct sanction on the Argentine National Team as a consequence of the infractions recorded during the World Cup.
