After four years, Garrahan operated its heliport again to transfer patients

Garrahan Hospital resumed operating its heliport, which had been out of service since 2021, when it received an air medical transfer on Tuesday of a teenager from San Antonio de Areco, Buenos Aires Province.

The authorization was possible after completing maintenance, signaling, and adaptation tasks to the conditions required by the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC).

"This achievement is the result of a management decision based on order, planning, and the efficient use of resources, directing them to what really matters: children's health," hospital authorities stated.

Record investment in Garrahan

In 2025, a comprehensive modernization plan for Garrahan Hospital was launched, with a budget of almost 30,000 million pesos.

The goal is to raise the quality of medical care and reposition the hospital as a regional benchmark in highly complex pediatrics.

"As a result of the efficiency of the new administration, almost 30,000 million pesos will be invested in new equipment and expansion works at Garrahan Hospital. All this is achieved with the hospital's own funds, without additional transfers, thanks to the efficient management of resources," Minister Manuel Adorni stated.

Garrahan incorporates unique technology in the region to treat childhood cancer

Weeks ago, Garrahan Hospital took a momentous step in modernizing its health infrastructure with the arrival of a state-of-the-art pediatric linear accelerator, a device that is unique in the country, in Latin America, and one of the first in the world.

The incorporation of this technology is part of the investment of nearly 30,000 million pesos announced in October by Javier Milei's government, earmarked for advanced equipment and expansion works at Argentina's main children's health center.

According to presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni at the time, these funds were made possible thanks to the "efficient use of resources by the new administration."
