The province of Tucumán was at the center of the national controversy after it was confirmed that the provincial Legislature allocated resources and institutional support to the First Global Meeting "Trans Childhoods," scheduled for October 18 at the Catalinas Hotel.
The initiative, presented as a "scientific and educational" space, was publicly denounced by political scientist Agustín Laje, who warned that the event promotes the "hormonalization and sexual mutilation of children" under the guise of inclusion.
On his X account, Laje posted a message that quickly went viral: "Extremely serious: sexual abuse of children promoted by the government of Tucumán. With the support of the Legislature and Vice Governor Acevedo, Tucumán will host the First Global Meeting 'Trans Childhoods.' That congress seeks to legitimize the hormonalization and sexual mutilation of children, something that contradicts the principle of comprehensive protection of childhood."

The post was shared thousands of times and placed Laje once again at the center of the cultural battle against the advance of progressivism. His denunciation raised alarms about the role of the Legislature, which not only provided political support but also financed the event with public funds in a province hit by poverty, unemployment, and an educational crisis.
The candidate for national deputy for La Libertad Avanza Tucumán, Federico Pelli, joined the repudiation and strongly criticized the Legislature for what he defined as a "serious deviation of priorities": "I repudiate and reject the fact that the Tucumán Legislature, with the support of Vice Governor Acevedo, decides to support politically and economically the Global Meeting 'Trans Childhoods.' Our province will host this congress financed with the taxes of Tucumán residents."
