The captain's wife highlighted the pride of accompanying him all the way and celebrated that he deserved that story of glory with the Albiceleste
The family support in the farewell letterIn the text with which he announced his retirement, Messi highlighted the fundamental role of his inner circle throughout twenty years of defending the national jersey. “Thank you to my family for always being there, for accompanying me on this beautiful but difficult journey,” wrote the captain in one of the most emotional passages of his message.
Those words gain even more strength when read alongside Antonela's response. She not only supported the victories but also the defeats and the moments of greatest demand. Her message reinforces the idea that the true support came from home, day after day.
As Antonela's post reflects well, the peace of having given it all and having reached glory is the legacy that remains. The pride of having shared that journey and seeing dreams fulfilled transforms into the perfect closure of a story that many considered impossible.
Lionel Messi shook the football world by confirming his definitive retirement from the Argentine National Team. Among the thousands of reactions from fans, teammates, and sports figures, the one from his life partner, Antonela Roccuzzo, stood out. The Rosario businesswoman chose to respond directly in the post where the Number Ten announced his historic decision.
In few but very heartfelt words, Antonela expressed: “What a pride it has been to be by your side on this journey and to see you fulfill all your dreams. You deserved this story and much more. We love you infinitely.” The message summarizes years of unconditional support and values everything the captain built while wearing the sky blue and white jersey.
This golden stage included the Copa América, the Finalissima, and the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Antonela was present at each of those achievements and now celebrates the closure of a cycle that left an indelible legacy for Argentine football.
