External sales exceeded USD 49.454 million in six months, driven by strong energy and industry sectors

Argentinian exports reached record levels both in June 2026 and in the accumulated first half of the year, in line with a sustained growth trend in foreign trade, as revealed today by INDEC.

In the first six months, goods sales abroad totaled USD 49.454 billion, representing a 24.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025 and establishing a new historical maximum.

The performance was driven by advances in all major categories. Exports of Fuels and Energy led the growth with a 42.5% year-on-year increase.

They were followed by Manufactures of Industrial Origin, with a 27.5% rise, Primary Products with 24.4%, and Manufactures of Agricultural Origin with a 15.1% increase. In particular, the sectors of Manufactures of Industrial Origin, Fuels and Energy, and Primary Products recorded the highest values in the entire historical series.

During June, exports totaled USD 9.055 billion, which implied a year-on-year growth of 24.5% and marked a historical maximum for that month. This increase was explained by a 6.8% rise in exported quantities and a 16.5% increase in prices.

Regarding imports, in June they reached USD 6.861 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 7.3%. This growth was exclusively due to rising prices, which advanced by 11.6%, as imported quantities decreased by 3.8%.

The trade balance result was surplus at USD 2.194 billion during June, which meant an improvement of USD 1.314 billion compared to the same month of the previous year. Additionally, the terms of trade index recorded a 4.4% increase, driven by a greater increase in export prices compared to import prices.

The total trade exchange, which includes exports and imports, reached USD 15.916 billion in June, representing a 16.4% year-on-year increase and the highest level since August 2022.

In this context, the trade surplus extended for the thirty-first consecutive month, reflecting the persistence of a positive balance in Argentine foreign trade.

On a year-on-year basis, the growth of exports in June was led by Manufactures of Agricultural Origin, with a 31.6% increase, followed by Manufactures of Industrial Origin (31.4%), Fuels and Energy (31.1%), and, to a lesser extent, Primary Products, which advanced by 3.6%.
