Restructuring at Atlético Madrid: Ángel Correa and Nahuel Molina are leaving
Atlético begins to renew its squad after the Club World Cup. Correa is moving to Tigres, Molina is being linked with Italy, and three other players are also preparing their departures
After the tough elimination in the Club World Cup, Atlético de Madrid activated its sports restructuring process and began finalizing the departure of several key players. Among them, Nahuel Molina and Ángel Correa stand out, two world champions with the Argentina National Team.
The right-back, who played 42 matches and scored one goal last season, has a strong chance of returning to Serie A, with Lazio and Udinese as the main clubs interested in signing him.

Meanwhile, Ángel Correa will bring his long spell at Atleti to an end. After a decade at the Madrid club, the former San Lorenzo player will continue his career at Tigres de México, where he will sign a contract until 2030. In the coming hours, he will travel to San Nicolás de los Garza to undergo a medical examination and sign the contract.

More departures in defense
Not only will the Argentinians say goodbye, Axel Witsel, César Azpilicueta, and Reinildo Mandava will also leave Colchonero.

Witsel, after three seasons, played his last match against Seattle Sounders. The Belgian has not yet decided his future, although Borussia Dortmund once again appears as a possible option.
Azpilicueta, a 36-year-old defensive leader, will also leave the club after two campaigns. Celta de Vigo is the main candidate to secure his services and would allow him to continue in LaLiga.
Finally, Reinildo, after three years at the club, is considering offers to return to Ligue 1 or make the move to the Premier League, where Crystal Palace has him on its shortlist as a reinforcement.
Atlético Madrid's upcoming fixtures
With its early elimination from the Club World Cup, for now the Madrid team will give its players a break and focus on strengthening for the next season. On the other hand, although LaLiga will not start until August 17, Colchonero has a friendly match scheduled for the previous week, on August 9, against Newcastle at St James' Park.
