Attention Boca: Miltón Giménez is on Vélez's radar

The transfer market is entering its final stretch and Vélez continues to look for alternatives to strengthen its attack. The departure of Florián Monzón to Atlas in Mexico left a vacant spot in the center of the area and, while the club analyzes different options, a name has emerged that could change jerseys within Argentine football: Milton Giménez.

With Miguel Merentiel as the starting forward for Boca, and the injured Adam Bareiro and the recently signed Enner Valencia as his main alternatives, the former Banfield player has lost a lot of prominence, even being left out of the last call-up for the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana round of 16 against Recoleta. This context opened up the possibility of a departure and, in light of this situation, el Fortín has already contacted his camp to learn about his situation.

The interest arose from an express request from Guillermo Barros Schelotto, who wants to add a number nine to occupy the spot left by Monzón. Giménez's initial response was positive and the player would be willing to move to Liniers, where he would have greater chances of getting minutes and even being a starter.

The management maintains a good relationship following the agreement for Álvaro Montero, finalized weeks ago, although the Xeneize does not intend to part with the forward at any cost.

If they want to keep the player permanently, Vélez would need to make a significant investment. The blue and gold team had bought 100% of his rights from Necaxa in Mexico two years ago for an amount exceeding 3.5 million dollars, so any offer for the entirety of the transfer should be around those figures.
