La Derecha Diario Bibarel EX from Shining Festival: the new threat in Pokémon TCG Pocket

The Brilliant Festival miniset of Pokémon TCG Pocket, released on March 27, 2025, has brought with it 111 new cards, including Bibarel ex, a Pokémon that, despite its modest appearance, has become a key piece of the metagame.
Its combination of solid damage and healing makes it a versatile and resilient option, similar to Venusaur ex in Grass-type decks.
How to get the Bibarel ex card?
Bibarel ex is found in the Brilliant Festival miniset packs in three versions:
- Standard: 500 pack-opening points
- Super Rare: 1,250 pack-opening points
- Special Art: 1,250 pack-opening points
Each opened pack grants 5 pack-opening points, allowing you to accumulate them to acquire the card directly in the store.
To play with Bibarel ex, it is necessary to have its pre-evolution, Bidoof (Basic), which is also found in the packs and costs 35 pack-opening points in its standard version.
Bibarel ex strategy and gameplay
The mechanics of Bibarel ex are simple but effective. As a Stage 1 Pokémon, it must evolve from Bidoof and be charged with four Energies of any type to use its main attack:
- Carefree Pressure
- Deals 100 damage points
- Restores 30 health points to Bibarel ex
This effect allows it to stay in battle longer, making it a resilient option in the Active Spot. Its healing ability is identical to Venusaur ex's Giant Bloom, one of the most used attacks in Grass decks.
Although 100 damage points may seem insufficient compared to more powerful attacks, in two turns it can weaken most rival Pokémon. Only a few exceptions, like a Venusaur ex with Giant Cape (210 HP), can withstand longer.
Advantages of Bibarel ex in the metagame
- Great adaptability: As a Normal Pokémon, it can be included in any deck without type restrictions.
- Energy efficiency: Its attack uses Energies of any type, facilitating its inclusion in various strategies.
- High level of resilience: With 160 HP and its healing ability, it surpasses other Pokémon ex like Mewtwo ex or Mew ex in durability.
