The highly anticipated film based on BioShock on Netflix is once again facing delays and changes in its direction. The project, announced in 2022 with high expectations, is experiencing a new creative halt and still doesn't have a confirmed script.
Producer Roy Lee acknowledged in statements to Collider that the adaptation needs more work on its script. Meanwhile, director Francis Lawrence has decided to move forward with other commitments.

A project that is not taking off
The production of BioShock suffered budget cuts at Netflix, which forced a redesign of the film. According to Lee, the movie is "on the right track," but it will not be an epic blockbuster, rather a more personal proposal with less visual spectacle.
These adjustments, along with the lack of a script, are further delaying the start of filming. The adaptation, which had caused excitement among fans of the video game created by Ken Levine, remains trapped in uncertainty.
