The president of San Lorenzo is accused of charging around 25 thousand dollars from the footballer's mother

San Lorenzo is once again in the eye of the storm, this time due to a scandal directly involving its president, Marcelo Moretti, who was caught receiving "black money" from the mother of a young footballer from the youth divisions in order to "sign him".

The complaint was publicly broadcast by Canal 9, which released both audio and images from a hidden camera recording the conversation between the president of the Ciclón and the player's mother, to whom he requested USD 25,000 for the club to sign the youth's first contract.

For a year, rumors circulated within the club about an alleged video implicating the president in a case of receiving black money to finalize a signing. Finally, this Monday the material was broadcast on the program TLNdenuncia, hosted by Tomás Méndez on Canal 9.

"Speak as if it were a business," were Moretti's first words during the meeting with the woman, who spoke to him about the amount she had to "invest" for her son to be part of the team. The president left no room for doubt by confirming: "USD 25,000 or 30,000", according to the program's audio revelations.

Although the mother tried to agree on a payment in two installments, Moretti was clear: "The sooner, the better…". The conversation ended with a blunt statement: "I'll give you the 25,000, but sign the kid".

The moment they met and Moretti received the money

The evidence includes not only the phone recordings but also images of the moment Moretti met with the player's mother. According to the video broadcast by TNLdenuncia, the meetings took place in an office where the official received the agreed dollars.

Before finalizing the money delivery, they both talked about the young footballer's current situation and how "happy he was" with the photos and club clothing he had received along with the rest of the team.

In the same video, Francisco Sánchez Gamino, Director of the National Cabinet of Ministers, also appears, who was present with Moretti during the delivery.

The images show the moment when the woman takes out a considerable sum of cash, which ended up in the San Lorenzo president's jacket. Immediately, they resumed the conversation about the "kid" and the possibility of him playing with Comunicaciones. In a second meeting, Moretti received the rest of the money, again under the condition: "sign him".

A statement that resonates strongly today

On a day full of symbolism for San Lorenzo due to the death of Pope Francis, Moretti gave interviews in which he highlighted his connection with the Pontiff and repeated a phrase that is now going viral among fans: "He always asked me about San Lorenzo and told me to keep lifting the club as I was doing".

Meanwhile, an old post and a video of an interview with YouTuber and journalist Agustín Muzzu featuring the president went viral on social media, in which he claimed: "With me, all the kiosks are over".
