In a new demonstration of the strength that the Argentine economy has gained under the leadership of Javier Milei, the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) achieved a net purchase of 32 million dollars in the foreign exchange market today.

This result is not an isolated event, but the confirmation of an unbreakable course: the monetary authority has reached 130 consecutive days of buying foreign currency, a historic streak that has allowed it to accumulate more than 1.5 billion dollars just in the month of July.

This "Argentine miracle" occurs in a context of extreme international hostility. While the markets in the United States suffered a bearish day, with the Dow Jones Industrial falling 0.7%, the S&P 500 down 0.2%, and the Nasdaq down 0.1%, local assets decoupled from the negative trend and showed positive numbers.

Investor confidence in the economic freedom model allowed the S&P Merval index of the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange to rise 0.7%, reaching 3,223,652 points.

Within the leading panel, optimism was driven by the energy and services sector, with notable increases in the shares of Pampa Energía (+2.6%) and Edenor (+2.3%). In this regard, Damián Vlassich, Team Leader of Investment Strategies at IOL, highlighted:

“Supported by opportunistic purchases, dollar-denominated sovereign bonds led the gains on Wall Street, allowing the country risk to cut its recent advance”. Indeed, the Country Risk reflected this improvement by falling to 416 points.

The strength of the macroeconomic data supports this financial euphoria. The Indec reported that in June, exports soared to a historic high of USD 9.055 billion (an increase of 24.5% year-on-year), resulting in a trade surplus of 2.194 billion dollars.

When analyzing the first half of 2026, the accumulated trade surplus is an astonishing figure of USD 49.454 billion, with a growth of 42.5% in Fuel and Energy exports.

In the foreign exchange market, the wholesale dollar recorded its fourth consecutive increase to close at $1,481. According to operator Nicolás Merino from ABC Mercado de Cambios: “Only after 2 PM did a more intense and sustained demand push the quote up to $1,483, the intraday high of the session. However, at that level, it encountered resistance and ultimately retreated to close at $1,481”.

For its part, the dollar at Banco Nación stood at $1,500, while the BCRA maintains its band scheme with an upper limit of 1,831.31 pesos, with the current exchange rate comfortably at 23.7% of that threshold.

Experts from Balanz noted that bonds maturing in 2030 and 2038 continue to offer attractive spreads, suggesting that past pessimistic views have become obsolete in light of the new Argentine reality. Despite the conflicts in the Middle East and the military escalation that keeps Brent Crude at USD 88.97 and WTI at USD 82.49, the Argentina of Javier Milei continues to demonstrate that, with fiscal discipline and freedom, there is no ceiling for growth.
