The ruling parties of Chile announced the presentation of a constitutional accusation, equivalent to an impeachment trial, against the former Minister of Finance of Gabriel Boric, Nicolás Grau. The initiative was primarily driven by the National Libertarian Party (PNL), one of the forces that make up the government coalition of President José Antonio Kast and which has been particularly critical of the economic management of the previous administration.
From the National Libertarian Party, they argue that during Boric's term, there was a significant deterioration of public finances and that Marcel, as the main responsible for economic policy, must answer politically for the decisions made during his management. According to the proponents, the fiscal deviations recorded in recent years justify the opening of an institutional control process.

The proponents of the accusation claim that Nicolás Grau, as the highest economic authority of the previous administration, must answer politically for the decisions made during his management. They argue that there were early signs of the deterioration of public accounts that were not corrected in a timely manner.
