The Chinese dictatorship suggests that COVID-19 originated in the United States.
Beijing accuses the US of stigmatizing China, turning it into a 'scapegoat' and trying to 'divert attention.'
This Wednesday, the State Council of the People's Republic of China published a white paper on the "investigation" conducted by the Chinese dictatorship into the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic, in which it defends its "transparency," accuses the United States of politicizing the issue, and suggests that the virus "could have emerged earlier" in U.S. territory.
The publication, disseminated by the state media of the Chinese dictatorship, is divided into three chapters: the first two address China's contributions to the study of the origin of SARS-CoV-2 and the global fight against the pandemic, while the third criticizes the "mismanagement" of the U.S. response to the health crisis, especially in its early months.

The report, while defending that Beijing cooperated with the World Health Organization (WHO) in the investigation of the virus's origin "with a strong sense of global responsibility and transparency", attacks the United States, describing it as "a weak link in global health governance".
The book cites several studies, conducted by the regime itself and of little credibility, that ruled out the possibility that the Chinese city of Wuhan, where SARS-CoV-2 was first detected and which was locked down, was the origin of the virus, and they state it is "extremely unlikely" that the virus escaped from a laboratory in that city.

Despite numerous truly independent investigations, which show that COVID emerged after a leak in the Wuhan virology laboratory, where experiments were being conducted, Beijing accuses the United States of stigmatizing China, turning it into a "scapegoat" and attempting to "divert attention" by politicizing the origin of the virus, while listing possible indications that SARS-CoV-2 might have "circulated in the U.S." before its official detection in China.
Among these supposed indications, the communist regime mentions pneumonia and flu outbreaks in several U.S. states throughout 2019, cases of lung diseases linked to the use of electronic cigarettes, serological studies conducted by U.S. institutions, and "incidents" documented between 2006 and 2020 in laboratories working with pathogens.

The white paper states that "An in-depth investigation into the origins of the virus in the United States should be conducted" and calls on Washington to provide "a responsible response" to the international community regarding this "reasonable concern". It is important to remember that China never allowed foreign research teams to conduct analyses in the city of Wuhan.
The regime of Xi Jinping publishes this report almost five months after the WHO, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the pandemic's onset, again requested greater transparency on the origins of the virus.
In a statement, the international health agency emphasized: "We continue to urge China to share data and facilitate access to understand the origins of COVID-19. It is a moral and scientific imperative, as without transparency and cooperation among countries, the world will not be able to adequately prepare for future epidemics and pandemics."
