The Deliberative Council of La Calera, a city located in the Colón department, west of the capital of Córdoba, approved an ordinance that includes lowering taxes for business owners to boost the economy.
On Tuesday, after the vote in the chamber, the Neighborhood Economy Promotion Regime and the Simplification and Incentive Regime for Local Economic Growth were created.

The measure —promoted by Mayor Fernando Rambaldi and defended in the chamber by the ruling party bloc— aims to boost private investment, regularize the situation of small businesses and reduce the tax burden on productive activities.

The opposition requested the removal of the article proposing the creation of an Economic Development Agency, a topic that will be addressed later as an independent initiative, according to the website Reporte Cba.
"The important thing is that a direction was set: to regularize and make business permits in the neighborhoods more flexible, but also to encourage investment throughout the city," councilor Lucas Larrosa explained during the session.

According to the councilor, the administration's goal is to offer "predictability, legal stability, and clear signals for the private sector."
Larrosa highlighted that the Municipality eased 107 commerce and industry taxes, increasing discounts for card payments —from 7.5% to 10%— and committed to incorporating additional benefits in the future fee schedule.
"La Calera's conditions are optimal for new investors to make serious decisions. There is a government that seeks to support private initiative," he stated.
The project was supported by the ruling party bloc, while councilor Gastón Morán voted against it and councilor Carmen Luján abstained.
