This Wednesday morning, the center of Córdoba was a traffic chaos because of public employees who demonstrated and marched toward the Legislature.
The Police's preventive operation began at 8, which caused the first difficulties.
There were total traffic blockades without prior notice at key points in the downtown area, such as the intersection of Olmos Avenue and Maipú, which caused long delays and discomfort among drivers.
Unions protest in Córdoba
The unions, the Public Employees Union (SEP) and the Municipal Workers Union (SUOEM), had been called between 10 and 10:30 at different union headquarters to later converge in a demonstration toward the Legislature, where the session in which the increase in retirement contributions will be debated is scheduled for the afternoon.
Martín Llaryora's government trusts that the 2026 budget package will be approved by a majority together with the tax changes, including a last-minute amendment by the ruling party that grants the Executive the authority for an increase in the contributions that state employees make to the Provincial Health Insurance Administration (Apross).
