The First Nomination Contentious Administrative Chamber of Córdoba rejected the protection action filed by residents of Villa Allende who opposed the installation of gates to close streets at night for security reasons.
The petitioners requested that the Judiciary immediately suspend the Opposition Registry that is underway in the first neighborhoods where the measure will be applied, which are Pan de Azúcar and Lomas Sur.
The residents argued that the closure violated the guarantees of freedom of movement and traffic contained in the National Constitution.
They also stated that it constituted a risk for the movement of traffic in general and, in particular, for emergency services.
In view of these arguments, the Chamber rejected the request on the grounds that there was no violation of the content of the residents' rights, "beyond the dissatisfaction that the parties express with the measure adopted by the local authorities to address citizen insecurity."
