An orange alert is in effect for a large part of the territory of Córdoba.

While it has been raining heavily since Thursday morning, the authorities issued statements asking the population to exercise caution due to the possible hail and strong wind gusts.

In addition, in the mountainous areas the rivers and streams have risen, which means that the danger is greater both for residents and for tourists.

The opening night of the Jesús María Horsemanship and Folklore Festival had to be suspended due to the weather.

Heavy rains in Córdoba

From the Risk Management Secretariat of the Ministry of Security, the probability was highlighted of maximum accumulations of between 85 to 125 mm, which could be higher in specific areas, especially in the capital of Córdoba and in the northern and northwestern parts of the province.
 
These events could be associated with abundant rainfall in short periods of time, wind gusts, hail, and electrical activity, in an uneven manner.

The authorities urge the population to maximize preventive measures, avoiding outdoor activities during storms, avoiding circulation during critical hours, and staying away from river and stream channels due to possible surges.
