After a start to the winter vacation with occupancy levels in line with forecasts, the tourism sector in the city of Córdoba places its highest expectations on the second half of July, when school recess begins for visitors from the province of Buenos Aires, the main source market for tourists in the country.

During the first two weeks of the winter recess, hotel occupancy in the capital of Córdoba was around 60%, a percentage considered positive in an economic context that continues to affect tourism consumption. However, business owners and municipal authorities expect an increase in reservations with the arrival of tourists from Buenos Aires, who historically represent one of the largest flows of visitors to Córdoba.

The expectation is based on the fact that the school vacation calendar is staggered among the provinces. While several districts are already nearing the end of their recess, the province of Buenos Aires is starting its vacation, generating a turnover of tourists that usually benefits both the city of Córdoba and the main mountain destinations.

The hotel sector highlights that last-minute reservations continue to be a consolidated trend, so they expect occupancy to improve towards the end of the month if weather conditions are favorable and demand from the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires remains strong.

The city also bets on a wide agenda of cultural, gastronomic, and recreational proposals to attract those who choose to combine urban getaways with tours of the mountains. Museums, historical circuits, shows, guided tours, and activities for the whole family are part of the offerings designed for this winter vacation.

The optimism of the sector is also supported by the tourism performance recorded by the province. According to official data, Córdoba received more than 200,000 visitors during the first week of winter vacation, with an economic impact exceeding 63 billion pesos and several mountain towns surpassing 80% hotel occupancy. This movement strengthens expectations for the second half of July, when the arrival of tourists from Buenos Aires could give a new boost to all activities.

In this scenario, the city of Córdoba seeks to establish itself as one of the main gateways to provincial tourism during the winter, taking advantage of its connectivity, historical heritage, and an increasingly diverse offering for those arriving from Buenos Aires and other parts of the country.
