Marcelo “Chacho” Coudet's departure from River did not go unnoticed across the border. As soon as his exit was confirmed following the elimination in the Copa Sudamericana, the Argentine coach reappeared on the radar of a big club in Brazil: Internacional de Porto Alegre.
According to reports in Brazilian media, Inter explored the possibility of bringing in the 51-year-old coach. The red team is currently in 18th place in the Brasileirao with only 25 points and is seriously at risk in the fight for survival. Given this situation, the continuity of Uruguayan Paulo Pezzolano is in doubt, and Coudet's name has emerged strongly.
However, according to information from ESPN Brazil, Chacho has reportedly rejected the chance to return to the gaucho club. The main reason is that there are only twelve matches left to play in the local championship, a very narrow margin to attempt a comeback that avoids relegation.
Coudet is already familiar with Inter. He managed the team in two different stages: first in 2020 and then between 2023 and 2024.
