Criminals ordered an Uber in Córdoba and were arrested after a failed robbery
They threatened the driver with a bladed weapon and fled, but the police captured them in Sierras Chicas
Three criminals were arrested after attempting to steal a car from an Uber driver during a trip. The journey began in the Renacimiento neighborhood of Córdoba and ended in Unquillo, in Sierras Chicas. The incident occurred in the early morning hours and ended with immediate police intervention.
The driver's quick response and the police's reaction prevented a robbery that could have ended much worse. The events took place on Thursday morning and were recorded at the local police station. The case was placed at the disposal of the justice system on charges of attempted aggravated robbery.

Common robbery method
A 28-year-old woman and two men aged 22 and 33 requested the ride through the official app. They chose a destination in the mountainous area without raising initial suspicion. The 37-year-old driver accepted the ride as any other, unaware of what was to come.
Upon reaching the vicinity of the destination, the passengers demanded that the driver take a detour down a little-traveled street. In that dark area, they threatened him with a knife and attempted to take control of the vehicle. The car involved was a Fiat Cronos, commonly used in Uber service.
The driver acted quickly: he removed the car keys and escaped immediately. He ran through the area until he found help and contacted the police. His actions were key to thwarting the robbery and forcing the assailants to flee.

Arrest in Unquillo
After the driver's alert, the police operation was quickly activated in the Sierras Chicas corridor. Unquillo personnel located the three suspects on Concejal Bossio street. The criminals were arrested without resistance and taken to the police station.
Personal belongings and the knife used in the attempted robbery were seized at the scene. In addition, it was confirmed that none of the detainees had a prior arrest warrant. The investigation continues to determine whether they were involved in other similar incidents.
