The general secretary of the Metalworkers' Union (UOM) of Quilmes, Florencio Varela, and Berazategui, the Kirchnerist Vicente Adrián Pérez, was arrested this Tuesday in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Mataderos.
During the operation, the City Police found two pistols, two knives, a baseball bat, and a metal extendable baton inside the vehiclein which he was traveling with two other men.
The procedure was carried out by personnel from the Brigade of the Division of Community Investigations (DIC) 9, who were conducting robbery prevention tasks with inhibitors.

The agents observed three men getting into a Peugeot 308 with tinted windows on Juan Bautista Alberdi Avenue at 5930. After following the vehicle, they decided to stop it a few meters later, at 5900 of the same street.
As they approached to identify the occupants, the men themselves stated that they were carrying firearms inside the cabin. One of them introduced himself as the general secretary of the UOM of the Quilmes section and claimed to have documentation for one of the pistols.
The officers then identified Pérez, who had registered with the National Agency for Controlled Materials (ANMAC) the authorized possession of a Bersa Thunder pistol. However, that authorization did not permit him to carry the weapon in public, which led to an accusation of illegal possession.
During the search of the Peugeot 308, two pistols were found. One was on the back seat, inside a handbag, while the other was in the glove compartment. Neither had ammunition in the chamber, although both had the magazine inserted.
The seized weapons
The second pistol, a Bersa Thunder Plus 380, belonged to one of Pérez's companions and did not have documentation. In addition to the weapons, the agents seized two knives, a baseball bat, a metal extendable baton, and the cell phones of the three occupants.
Along with the union leader were José Ignacio Esquivel, who was acting as a driver, and Pedro Fabián Pérez, 56 years old, identified as his bodyguard and the owner of the undocumented weapon. All three were arrested after the operation.
After the actions taken at the scene, a consultation was made with the Southern Flagrancy Unit. Prosecutor Nancy Haron ordered the formal arrest for illegal possession of a weapon and ordered the seizure of the pistols, cell phones, and the vehicle.
Now, the Justice must determine the procedural situation of the three detainees and establish the corresponding individual responsibilities for the weapons and other items found during the procedure.
