Enzo Fernández was once again key for the Argentine National Team. The 25-year-old midfielder scored the winning goal in the 3-2 victory against Egypt in the round of 16 of the World Cup, and yet, he did not want to mention what will happen with his future once the competition ends.

The Chelsea player prioritizes the present with the albiceleste jersey. “I’m not thinking about my future right now. I’m here enjoying this incredible moment for me, and after the World Cup, we’ll see…,” he declared to DAZN, according to sources from the match.

With this attitude, Fernández shows maturity and commitment. At 25 years old, he has accumulated 54 matches and 15 goals in all competitions during the 2025-2026 season with the English team. Those numbers reflect his growth and his increasingly important role in midfield.

Complete focus on the World Cup

The Argentine midfielder made it clear that his mind is solely on the upcoming matches of the National Team. He avoided any comments that could distract the group or create noise around his name. This stance is appreciated by the coaching staff and his teammates.

The goal against Egypt not only qualified Argentina but also solidified Enzo as a fundamental piece. His ability to reach the opponent's area and finish at key moments was once again evident.

At Chelsea, he has shown great consistency. The 15 goals and the number of matches played speak of a player in full confidence and at a high level. However, none of that seems to matter now: the focus is on the World Cup.
