The Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, Federico Sturzenegger, made a lightning trip to the United States this Thursday, where he held a meeting with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, and presented the reforms promoted by President Javier Milei to various international organizations.
According to the official himself, the meeting with Georgieva focused on planning the next steps of the Advisory Council on Entrepreneurship and Growth of the IMF. During the conversation, they also analyzed the structural reform program being carried out by the Argentine government and, according to Sturzenegger, there was time to talk “a lot” about soccer.
The minister and economist has been part of this international council since 2025, composed of representatives from the private sector, finance, academia, and public management. The organization seeks to identify policies that promote innovation, improve productivity, and allow for sustained economic growth led by private investment.
Sturzenegger's participation represents an opportunity to bring Argentina's experience in deregulation, elimination of bureaucratic obstacles, and reduction of state intervention to the international debate. The minister assured that during his meeting with Georgieva there was an extensive conversation about the measures implemented by the administration.
