Federico Sturzenegger met with Kristalina Georgieva in the United States

The Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, Federico Sturzenegger, made a lightning trip to the United States this Thursday, where he held a meeting with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, and presented the reforms promoted by President Javier Milei to various international organizations.

According to the official himself, the meeting with Georgieva focused on planning the next steps of the Advisory Council on Entrepreneurship and Growth of the IMF. During the conversation, they also analyzed the structural reform program being carried out by the Argentine government and, according to Sturzenegger, there was time to talk “a lot” about soccer.

The minister and economist has been part of this international council since 2025, composed of representatives from the private sector, finance, academia, and public management. The organization seeks to identify policies that promote innovation, improve productivity, and allow for sustained economic growth led by private investment.

Sturzenegger's participation represents an opportunity to bring Argentina's experience in deregulation, elimination of bureaucratic obstacles, and reduction of state intervention to the international debate. The minister assured that during his meeting with Georgieva there was an extensive conversation about the measures implemented by the administration.

The agenda continued at the World Bank, where the official gave a presentation to economists from the organization about the deregulation process developed since Milei took office at the Casa Rosada. Subsequently, he participated in another meeting at the Argentine Embassy, where he presented the President's ideas on artificial intelligence and technological development.

The visit took place in a context of recognition from the Fund for the changes implemented by the Government. In its latest report on Argentina, the organization highlighted the advances in macroeconomic stabilization and in building a more market-oriented economy. Additionally, it projected a growth of 3.5% for 2026.

Before returning to the country, Sturzenegger met with Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, who was also in the United States. Both officials traveled back to Argentina together.

The tour did not include announcements of new financial agreements, but it once again demonstrated the relevance of Milei's policies on the agenda of major international economic organizations, particularly in areas such as growth, deregulation, and innovation,
