Five countries have committed to sending troops to join the newly created International Stabilization Force for Gaza (ISF), according to an announcement made on Thursday by its commander during the inaugural meeting of the Peace Board promoted by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in Washington.
Major General Jasper Jeffers reported that Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, and Albania have confirmed their participation with military contingents. In addition, Egypt and Jordan will contribute by training local police forces. Jeffers added that Indonesia will assume the position of deputy commander of the mission, consolidating its key role in the leadership structure.
According to the plan presented, the initial deployment of the ISF will begin in the city of Rafah, in the south of Gaza. There, the international troops will work on securing the area and on the training of local police units. Subsequently, the operation will expand progressively "sector by sector" toward other areas of the Palestinian enclave.

The commander explained that the long-term objective is to establish a force of approximately 20,000 international personnel and to train about 12,000 local police officers, with the purpose of establishing a stable environment that will allow the institutional and economic recovery of the territory.
"With these first steps we will help provide the security that Gaza needs for our future prosperity and a lasting peace", Jeffers stated during his address.
The creation of the ISF is part of a new international approach to addressing security in Gaza, after years of armed conflict, political tensions, and a severe humanitarian crisis.

Although the rules of engagement and the specific legal mandate of the mission have not been fully detailed, the announcement represents the first concrete commitment by several states to establish a multinational presence on the ground.
The participation of countries from different regions, Asia, Africa, and Europe, seeks to provide legitimacy and a multilateral character to the initiative. Observers point out that the inclusion of majority-Muslim nations, such as Indonesia, Morocco, and Jordan, could facilitate local acceptance of the deployment.
Egypt and Jordan, meanwhile, will play a key role in the training of Palestinian security forces, with the intention of strengthening internal capacities and gradually reducing dependence on the foreign military presence. This training component is considered essential to ensure the sustainability of the project in the medium and long term.

So far, no exact date has been announced for the start of the deployment and no specific timelines have been set for territorial expansion. However, the formal commitment of the first seven countries marks a significant step forward in the materialization of the international force.
The ISF aims to become a central element of any comprehensive strategy to stabilize Gaza, promote security, and lay the foundations for eventual reconstruction. The success of the mission will depend both on international coordination and on local acceptance and sustained political support over time.
