Franco Colapinto is going through the best moment of his short career in Formula 1 and the category itself has recognized it. After his outstanding performance in the Canadian Grand Prix, the Argentine driver was chosen as the best of the weekend in the traditional Power Rankings compiled by the top category after each race.
The performance of the driver from Pilar did not go unnoticed in the paddock. At the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, he achieved the best result of his career by finishing sixth, after starting from the tenth position and showing competitive pace throughout the weekend.

In addition to the final result, one of the most notable aspects was that Colapinto surpassed his teammate Pierre Gasly in all the important instances of the Canadian Grand Prix, despite starting Friday with complications. An electrical problem prevented him from participating in the initial free practice, although that did not affect his subsequent performance.
With this great performance, the Alpine driver received a rating of 9.2 points out of 10 and shared the top spot in the ranking with Lewis Hamilton, who was also praised for his performance with Ferrari in Montreal. "Franco Colapinto arrived in Montreal after a brilliant weekend in Miami, and the young Argentine continued his positive streak at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit", highlighted Formula 1 when publishing the official evaluations.
The analysis continued with praise for the Argentine's performance both in qualifying and in the race. "After narrowly missing out on scoring points in the Sprint, he qualified his Alpine for Q3 and moved from tenth to sixth place during the Grand Prix, thus achieving his best result in F1 to date", they emphasized.
On the other hand, in addition to the specific race table, the top category also publishes a general that takes the average of the scores obtained so far this season. In this regard, Colapinto occupies sixth place with a season average of 7.6, while Gasly is third with 7.8, tied with Hamilton.

It is worth noting that the scores are compiled by a panel of five specialized judges who analyze the individual performance of each driver during the weekend, regardless of the car's potential.
Meanwhile, within the French team, they particularly value the growth of the Argentine, who has shown a rapid adaptation to the category and an increasingly marked consistency. In Montreal, he once again displayed maturity in the race, recovery ability, and a solid performance on a historically demanding circuit.
When will Colapinto race again
After his historic sixth place in Canada, Formula 1 will cross the pond and land at the urban circuit of Monaco. The race in the principality will take place in two weeks, between Friday, June 5, and Sunday, June 7.
