Franco Colapinto is going through important weeks in his career within the Formula 1. After finishing 14th in the Dutch Grand Prix, held in Zandvoort, the Argentine driver received one of the most anticipated news: Alpine confirmed his continuity for the 2027 season, where he will again share the team with Pierre Gasly.

With his future secured, the Buenos Aires native is preparing to return to one of the most significant circuits of his career: Monza. At the Italian track, he made his debut in the Top Tier in the 2024 season when he was still with Williams, and now he will arrive with the peace of mind of knowing that he will have one more season to continue developing in the top category.

"It has been quite a busy few weeks for me since we returned to compete in Zandvoort after the summer break. I am delighted that, in this break before Monza, the team has confirmed that I will be here next year, alongside Pierre. I want to reiterate my gratitude to Flavio and Steve for the trust they have placed in me; it is an incredible feeling to be able to stay in this team for another season", Colapinto expressed.

Franco Colapinto experienced the Italian Grand Prix and the new upgrade package of his A526: "I can't wait to try it"This year we have made many important advances, both with the car and with my driving, so I am very happy that this has been recognized and I will continue to give my best for this team," he stated.

However, Colapinto has already shifted his focus to the next challenge. The Italian Grand Prix will mark the beginning of a new stage for Alpine, which will bring a package of upgrades to the track that Gasly already used during the previous race and that the Argentine will debut from Friday's practice sessions.

"All our attention is focused on Monza and on our position in the championship. I made my F1 debut at this circuit and it is always a pleasure to race here in front of the Italian fans. This weekend will be the first where we use our new upgrade package, which Pierre already used in the last race, and I am looking forward to trying it out from Friday and racing with it this weekend," he explained.

The Argentine expressed optimism about the initial feelings from the update and emphasized the importance of quickly adapting to try to take advantage of its potential. "The progress seemed promising and we will work hard to adapt to the changes as soon as possible," Colapinto stated.

Finally, he highlighted that the Italian circuit presents characteristics that could create opportunities during the competition. "Monza will be a very interesting race with this generation of cars; the long straights, combined with very demanding braking zones, could lead to a lot of action, so we will make sure to prepare as best as possible to achieve a positive result in the last double European event," he concluded.

When Colapinto returns to racing

After his challenging participation in Zandvoort, the Argentine, who will now have the upgrades in his A526 that Alpine developed during the summer break, will seek to recover in the Italian Grand Prix. Activities at the iconic Italian circuit will begin on Friday, September 4 with the first free practices and will conclude on Sunday, September 6 with the main race.

Previously, the native of Pilar had two races at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The first was in 2024, in his debut as a full-time driver for Williams, where he finished 12th, while the second was last year, already with Alpine, where he crossed the finish line in 17th position.
