Gago desperately asked Coloccini for help when Ander Herrera got injured.

When the Spanish midfielder tore his muscle, Fernando Gago had a tense exchange with his assistant, former San Lorenzo player, Fabricio Coloccini

One of the most bewildering moments of Boca's difficult night at the Marcelo Bielsa stadium, where they fell 2-0 to Newell's, was Ander Herrera's injury, who left the field on his own, visibly in pain. The situation was so confusing that even Fernando Gago had to turn to his assistant, Fabricio Coloccini, for help.

The Xeneize team arrived with the goal of securing their seventh consecutive victory in Zone A of the Apertura tournament, but Fabbiani's team prevailed with goals from Herrera and Lollo, leaving Boca without the chance to reach the top of their group, as Tigre surpassed them by one point after defeating Defensa y Justicia as visitors.

At the start of the second half, Herrera attempted a turn with the ball in control and felt a muscle twinge, which led him to signal for a substitution to the bench immediately. Gago realized in an instant that the Spaniard couldn't continue. Frustrated and resigned, he began to repeat: "Ander out, Ander out," as the former Athletic Club player headed to the sideline.

ESPN cameras captured the moment when, while Coloccini remained standing watching the game, Gago turned to him and, in a raised tone, demanded: "Wait! Help me!" The decision for his replacement wasn't easy, as just 10 minutes earlier the coaching staff had madethree simultaneous changes: Luis Advíncula for Lucas Blondel, Rodrigo Battaglia for Lautaro Di Lollo, and Herrera himself in place of Milton Delgado.

Finally, out of necessity, the coaching staff sent Exequiel Zeballos onto the field to complete the substitution. Later, the last change of the match was Miguel Merentiel for Alan Velasco.

The concerning present of Ander Herrera at Boca:

Since his arrival at Boca last transfer window, Herrera has played only seven matches, in which he hasn't scored any goals, recorded one assist, and received one yellow card in 389 minutes of play. Most of the time he has been sidelined due to injuries, so he still hasn't been able to integrate definitively into the Xeneize.
