The Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim Díaz, popularly known as Gaspi, died this Sunday at the age of 23 in a serious plane crash that occurred in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after two helicopters collided mid-air over the Recreio dos Bandeirantes area.
Among the victims are also the American singer Oliver Tree and the Argentine music video director Lucas Vignale, as well as the Brazilian music producer Lucas Brito Chaves, known as Lucas Frota, and the pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac, according to information released by local media and Brazilian authorities.

The accident occurred around 8:59 AM, local time and Argentina time, and triggered a large emergency operation in the western area of Rio de Janeiro. According to initial reports, five of the victims were found inside one of the aircraft, while the sixth was in the second helicopter, which fell about 100 meters from the first impact point.
One of the helicopters crashed onto the parking lot of an electric vehicle dealership and caught fire after hitting the ground. The flames reached at least 20 cars that were parked in the area, while a column of black smoke could be seen from various parts of the city.
The violence of the collision also caused debris from the aircraft to be ejected and hit nearby residential and commercial buildings. Firefighters, rescuers, and aviation experts continued to work in the area to secure the zone and determine the causes of one of the most serious air tragedies recorded this year in Brazil.
Gaspi had become one of the most recognized Argentine figures on YouTube and social media thanks to his provocative style, street interviews, and his characteristic greeting “buenass,” which quickly made him identifiable to millions of users. His content had led him to gain a massive audience as well as face scrutiny and sanctions on digital platforms.
In 2025, the Argentine creator had gained greater international exposure by participating in La Velada del Año V, the boxing event for streamers and content creators organized by Ibai Llanos at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville.

Oliver Tree, for his part, was an American artist known for his eccentric aesthetic, extravagant music videos, and a musical career built around a very distinct visual identity. Lucas Vignale, born in Buenos Aires, had established himself as a filmmaker and music video director, with works linked to urban music figures such as J Balvin, Trueno, and Bizarrap.
Brazilian authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation to reconstruct the mechanics of the collision, identify possible operational or technical failures, and establish how two aircraft ended up colliding mid-air over an urban area.
