The national government confirmed the payment of a $50,000 bonus for active personnel of the Armed Forces and police and federal security forces. This is an extraordinary, remunerative, and non-bonusable amount, paid as a one-time payment.
The benefit will be paid along with the salaries corresponding to August 2026. The measure was established through two decrees that precisely define which categories of personnel will receive the extraordinary sum.

Which Armed Forces personnel receive the $50,000 bonus
The Decree 695/2026 provides for the payment of the fixed sum for active military personnel of the Armed Forces. It also includes active personnel of the Naval Police and civilian intelligence personnel of the Armed Forces.
The regulation establishes that the $50,000 will be remunerative and non-bonusable. It will be paid only once per person, along with the salaries for August 2026.
The decree is signed by President Javier Milei, Chief of Cabinet Diego Santilli, and Minister of Defense Carlos Alberto Presti.

Which security forces receive the $50,000 bonus
The second decree, identified as 696/2026, expands the scope of the benefit to personnel from various forces under the Security area. Among the beneficiaries are active gendarmes and student personnel of the Argentine National Gendarmerie.
Active police-status personnel of the Argentine Naval Prefecture
Active personnel of the Argentine Federal Police
Personnel and students of the Aeronautical Security Police
Active penitentiary-status personnel and students of the Federal Penitentiary Service
Active personnel of the National Criminal Intelligence Directorate of the National Security Ministry
The inclusion of students is a significant point of the decree: the $50,000 bonus is not limited solely to personnel who already have operational status.
Which security forces receive the $50,000 bonus
When is the $50,000 bonus paid in August
The extraordinary sum will be paid along with the salaries for August 2026. The benefit was defined as a one-time payment per person, so it does not permanently add to the salary.
The remunerative nature implies that the sum is part of the remuneration for the relevant effects. The non-bonusable condition, meanwhile, means that it is not used to increase other supplements calculated based on bonuses.
Differences with other fixed sums in August
The $50,000 bonus for military and security forces must be differentiated from other salary increases set for different sectors. The Decree 552/2026, for example, homologated a fixed remunerative and non-bonusable sum of $50,000 for personnel covered by the General Collective Agreement of the National Public Administration.
Differences with other fixed sums from August
This measure corresponds exclusively to personnel under that agreement and should not be confused with the specific benefits of Decrees 695/2026 and 696/2026. For civilian personnel of the Armed Forces and Security under the regime of Decree 2539/15, a fixed sum of $50,000 was also planned within the salary update for the June-August period.
