The Official Response Office accused the portal of making a false, crude, and deceptive interpretation to minimize the demographic impact of abortion and defended Milei's statements with official data.

In a recent and revealing interview given to the streaming program “Las Tres Anclas” of the channel Carajo, the President of the Nation, Javier Milei, starkly exposed the terminal crisis facing the national demographics. The leader was blunt in linking the dramatic drop in the birth rate with the legalization of voluntary interruption of pregnancy, describing the actions of recent years as a social catastrophe: “On abortion issues, Argentine society has made a disaster. For you to have such a drop in the reproduction rate, you have made a disaster”.

In light of this undeniable truth, the portal Chequeado, acting with an evident militant bias, attempted to distort the facts by claiming that the decline in birth rates began in 2014, years before the law. However, the Official Response Office of the Nation dismantled this media operation with a historical rebuttal titled: “CHECKING CHEQUEADO: FALSE, GROSS, AND TRICKY TO MASK AN IDEOLOGICAL AGENDA”.

The Government was clear in explaining that, although there are prior trends, legalizing and funding abortion with public money not only culturally legitimizes death but also accelerates and exacerbates the demographic tragedy. As the official response rightly points out, this phenomenon follows an overwhelming logic: “Each voluntary interruption of pregnancy equates, by mathematical definition, to one Argentine who is not born”.

The magnitude of the damage caused by the Law 27.610 is, in official words, “brutal”. The data provided by the National Directorate of Sexual and Reproductive Health of the Ministry of Health is devastating, recording a total of 324,865 procedures carried out exclusively in the public system between 2021 and 2025. The annual breakdown of these truncated lives funded by the State is as follows:

In 2021: 73,497 abortions.

In 2022: 96,664 abortions.

In 2023: 107,505 abortions.

In 2024: 36,826 abortions.

In 2025: 10,373 recorded abortions.

This collapse is framed within a larger crisis where Argentina went from nearly 790,000 births in 2014 to just over 460,000 in 2023, according to data from the National Population Directorate of RENAPER.

The president, Javier Milei.
The president, Javier Milei.

The management of Javier Milei identifies this decline as the result of a “bloodthirsty agenda” that responds to “Malthusian premises of population control”, imposed by an elite that undermines the value of human life.

Beyond the abortion law, the Government denounces that the decline in birth rates carries the burden of decades of collectivist failure, citing specific factors such as the “economic destruction of the Kirchner years”, the “high inflation” that blew up family planning, “bad public policies” that suffocate with taxes, and the penetration of “anti-family leftist cultural trends” in urban centers.

In the face of the “closed defense of abortion” disguised as neutrality by organizations like Chequeado, the current administration stands firm with public and accessible data that confronts any ideological bias. The commitment of the new political order is clear: to end the “economic repression” and the glorification of death to achieve a nation where there are “more Argentines being born, growing, and thriving in a nation that values life and freedom”.
