Only two matches left until the end. The K Group closed its doors with a Colombia that, after drawing 0-0 while being superior to Portugal, finished at the top, and a Democratic Republic of the Congo that achieved a historic qualification by beating 3-1 Uzbekistan.
Colombia 0-0 Portugal
Colombia would start strong in their battle for the group lead with three clear chances to go up 1-0. First, a header from Jhon Córdoba after a rebound in the area that would go over the crossbar, several minutes later, a shot from Luis Díaz that Diogo Costa would manage to save, and finally, an attempt from Jhon Arías that Rubén Neves would clear off the line.
Despite this early momentum and continuing to apply pressure in search of the 1-0, the cooling break would cool not only the bodies of the South American players but also their game. In that context, the final stretch of the first half would be dominated by Portugal's goal-scoring opportunities, including a dangerous shot from Bruno Fernandes that would make Camilo Vargas shine, a long-range left-footed shot from Neves that went just wide, and a shot from Joao Felix in the area that would go high.
In the second half, the coffee growers would regain control of the match, trying every possible way to reach the first goal, although either they would miss the target or Diogo Costa would neutralize any risk in his goal. For their part, the Portuguese would hold most of the second half in their own area, showing a few sparks in attack.
Towards the end, Colombia would finally reach the longed-for 1-0 with a header from Davinson Sánchez, however, it would be disallowed for a millimetric offside, leaving the score at 0-0.
Democratic Republic of the Congo 3-1 Uzbekistan
In the other match, Uzbekistan would make headlines in just 20 seconds: Eldor Shomurodov would pick up a rebound left by goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi after a shot from Dostonbek Khamdamov and convert it into a goal, however, it would be disallowed for offside.
Despite the disappointment of not going ahead, the Asians would not take long to score again, this time legally. In the 9th minute, after a great combination of passes, Akmal Mozgovoy would provide an exquisite backheel assist to Shomurodov, who would chip the ball over Mpasi to make it 1-0.
