The draw between Estudiantes de La Plata and Instituto by 3-3, after the Platense team came back from a three-goal deficit with one player less, left much more than a striking result in the 15th round of the Clausura Tournament. The refereeing controversies and the tense atmosphere experienced at Estadio UNO continued after the match, with a series of episodes recorded in the report by Hernán Mastrángelo.
First of all, the document, published by journalist Silvio Maverino in El Gráfico, included details about the expulsion of the technical secretary of Pincha, Leonardo Gastón Mansilla. "In the 84th minute, technical secretary Leonardo Gastón Mansilla entered the substitutes' bench without authorization and confronted assistant number one, protesting refereeing decisions in a violent and aggressive manner using inappropriate terms, which is why I expelled him from the field and he had to be removed by club security personnel", detailed Mastrángelo.
However, the most striking situations occurred off the field: a theft and the unauthorized entry of a person into the locker room. "At halftime, we realized that the four towels that the local club's equipment staff had provided for our use were stolen; this incident highlights that someone outside the refereeing team entered our locker room without authorization while the first half was ongoing. At that moment, we reported the incident and were given a key to the locker room", he wrote in his report.
Mastrangelo reported theft and sabotage in his car
The situation took a new turn when the referees were about to leave the stadium. "As we left the locker room and went to our vehicle, located in the parking lot assigned by the police and club security, we noticed that someone had intentionally deflated a rear tire, as they left the valve cap next to the tire", he reported.
Finally, the members of the officiating team managed to inflate the tire with their own compressor and were able to leave Estadio UNO without further issues. Nevertheless, the reported episodes exposed security failures during the match and opened a new front of conflict for Estudiantes, on a night already marked by refereeing controversies.
