A heroic police officer shot two motorcycle thieves and prevented a robbery in La Matanza

An officer of the Buenos Aires City Police thwarted an armed robbery attempt early Friday morning at a gas station located at the intersection of Intendente Russo and General Rojo, in Gregorio Laferrere, La Matanza district.

The agent, a member of the Digital Ring Division, was off duty, dressed in civilian clothes and fueling her vehicle when she noticed a suspicious situation. According to official information, she observed that two armed criminals were riding a motorcycle and approaching a man with the intention of robbing him.

The target of the criminals was a 34-year-old man identified as Leonel Enrique González, whom they attempted to attack at gunpoint. In response to the situation, the police decided to intervene and used her service weapon to repel the attack.

The officer drew a Pietro Beretta pistol and fired five shots in the direction of the suspects. Two of the bullets struck one of the thieves, identified as Román Maximiliano Bravo, 17 years old.

The dangerous underage criminal sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen and left leg. His accomplice managed to escape the scene on the motorcycle and remains at large. The identity of the second suspect has not yet been established.

Both the victim of the robbery attempt and the officer of the City Police were unharmed after the incident at the gas station in Gregorio Laferrere.

The injured thief was taken to the hospital

After the confrontation, an ambulance arrived at the scene and medical personnel assisted the injured young man. Bravo was taken to Hospital Simplemente Evita, where he remains hospitalized under observation.

Meanwhile, officers from the Buenos Aires Province Police launched an operation in the area to locate the second member of the group, who managed to escape after the robbery attempt. The case has been classified as attempted aggravated robbery and is under judicial investigation.
