Horror in Córdoba: a nanny was recorded mistreating a 7-month-old baby
The mother filed the complaint and the justice system has already charged the suspect, although the legal classification caused outrage
A case of extreme child violence has shocked Córdoba and the country. A nanny was caught on security cameras physically assaulting a baby just seven months old, in the home where she had been working since March.
The child's mother, Georgina, had hired the woman through a formal domestic staffing agency, with prior interviews and verified references.
The incident came to light after the mother reviewed the footage from the cameras installed in her home, driven by a strong intuition and persistent discomfort. "The video shows how she throws my baby around as if he were a doll, she covers his head. It's horrible," she described with anguish in a conversation with Arriba Argentinos.
Although the nanny knew she was being monitored through the cameras, that did not prevent the abuse. Georgina recounted that at first she did not notice any unusual behavior, but as the days went by she began to feel physically affected. "It was a constant anguish, a pain in my chest. I felt that something was not right," she explained.
When she reviewed the footage, she confirmed her worst suspicions. "I saw how she mistreated my son. I couldn't believe it. I broke down in tears. I felt that I had failed as a mother," she said in a phone call with the news program.

Even the child's grandmother had expressed discomfort when left alone in the house with the nanny, something that also raised a red flag.
After discovering the abuse, Georgina immediately dismissed the woman and filed a formal complaint with the justice system. "I went with a lawyer, without taking my baby, because I don't want to expose him to more violence. I just want justice to act," she emphasized.
The baby is currently undergoing neurological tests to rule out possible physical aftereffects from the blows and shaking. However, the family's outrage deepened when the nanny was charged only with "minor injuries."
Ramiro Bazán, the family's lawyer, highlighted the severity of the footage. "This family is devastated. It was not negligence or carelessness. She hit him intentionally. Not even an animal acts like that," he stated in remarks to Cadena 3. He also warned: "At several moments she suffocates him, throws him, hits him. If there hadn't been cameras, today we would be talking about a child femicide."
