The investment in tokenized gold has arrived in the Argentine market through Prosegur Crypto, which launched the country's first platform to purchase tokens backed 100% by physical gold using a debit card. This model is already operational in Spain and is now landing in Argentina with an initial issuance of 2,000 tokens.
Each token of tokenized gold represents one gram of certified physical gold, with its price following the international market quotation of the metal. The backing is stored in high-security vaults under the company's custody, while transactions are recorded using blockchain technology to ensure the traceability of the asset.

What is tokenized gold and how does it work
Tokenization consists of digitally representing a physical asset using blockchain technology. In this case, each gold bar gives rise to 1,000 backed tokens.
The main difference compared to traditional gold purchasing is that the investor does not handle the storage, transportation, or custody of the metal, as this entire process is centralized with the service provider.
Additionally, the ability to acquire small fractions lowers the entry barrier for those looking to incorporate gold into their portfolio without making large outlays.
