In Paris Saint-Germain's 2-0 victory over Lens in Ligue 1, Luis Enrique was once again a protagonist, but this time not because of a tactical approach but due to an unprecedented decision: he coached the first half from the press box. The Spanish coach sought to have a broader view of the field, similar to what happens in rugby, and stated that he plans to repeat it in the future.
"I wanted to watch the first half from the stands and it's magnificent. I can control everything. It's different, it's an interesting option that I'm going to use again," he explained after the match. With this measure, he was able to observe each player's performance more clearly and thus have more information to make adjustments at halftime.

Luis Enrique, who has already won the Champions League with PSG and all domestic titles since his arrival, based his choice on the experience of other sports: "For some time, I've noticed that rugby coaches analyze matches from a different perspective. I like the possibility of seeking that improvement."
The Asturian also emphasized that the height allows him to precisely detect who performs better on the field and to prepare the locker room talk in greater detail. "We have a lot of direct information," he stressed.
Soccer, increasingly shaped by technological and tactical innovation, could find a new path in this type of measure. If Luis Enrique, one of the most influential coaches today, decides to adopt it as a habit, it wouldn't be surprising if other coaches follow the same example in the short term.
