IO Interactive has confirmed that the Hitman universe will continue to expand. The studio's CEO, Hakan Abrak, revealed that there will be a new game featuring Agent 47 as the main character, although details will only be revealed after the launch of the new James Bond, 007 First Light project, scheduled for March 2026.
The studio is going through a period of transition and development, so information about the next Hitman installment will arrive once that process is complete. Nevertheless, the developer reaffirmed its commitment to the franchise, which remains one of its flagship franchises.
A transition with news: focus on cooperative mode
Before revealing the next Hitman game, IO Interactive will introduce a key update: the expansion of the cooperative mode in Hitman: World of Assassination.
Abrak explained that this new component will offer different mechanics and challenges tailored to teamwork, which will open up new ways to approach missions within the stealth universe that defines the franchise.
Players will be able to take on the roles of Stone and Knight, two agents already known for their participation in Sniper mode. This cooperative format will allow players to rethink strategies, coordinate tasks, and experience missions specifically designed for two players.

A special mission: Agent 47 joins Eminem
Among the most striking additions, IO Interactive announced a special mission in World of Assassination where Agent 47 will collaborate with rapper Eminem.
In the story, the artist will act as an informant alongside strategist Diana Burnwood, and the objective will be to eliminate the rapper's famous alter ego: Slim Shady.
The mission combines narrative, pop culture, and the franchise's classic aesthetic, a strategy that is gaining momentum in the industry to attract new audiences and integrate well-known figures into fictional universes.
