The Israel Defense Forces carried out the largest attack against the infrastructure of the terrorist group Hezbollah in Lebanon since the beginning of the military operation “Roar of the Lion”, in a coordinated air offensive that hit nearly 100 strategic targets in just ten minutes.
As reported by the Israeli army, the operation took place simultaneously in Beirut, the Bekah Valley and southern Lebanon, targeting military infrastructure, command centers and key positions used by the Iranian-backed terrorist organization.
Israel destroyed command centers, intelligence and elite Hezbollah units
.
The official statement detailed that the targets hit included:
intelligence centers, command and control headquarters,
missile launch infrastructure,
maritime facilities
, and
operational bases of
the Radwan Force and Air
Unit 127.
The latter two are considered elite units within Hezbollah and regularly participate in planning attacks and offensive operations against Israeli territory.
The offensive was prepared for weeks with precise intelligence
.
The IDF pointed out that the attack was designed after several weeks of joint planning between:
the Intelligence Directorate, the Israeli Air Force,
the Operations Branch,
and the Northern
Command.
Israel assured that the main objective was to deepen the deterioration of Hezbollah's military capacity and neutralize its operational structure before future attacks.
Israel reported that Hezbollah uses civilians as human shields
. The
Israeli authorities pointed out that much of the terrorist infrastructure was
located inside densely populated areas.
In that regard, they accused Hezbollah of deliberately using the Lebanese civilian population as a “human shield” to protect its military operations.
The military stated that before each bombing, specific measures were implemented to minimize harm to uninvolved civilians.
Israel blames Hezbollah for dragging Lebanon into the conflict. In its final message, the
IDF maintained that Hezbollah decided to get involved in the war “under the patronage of the Iranian regime”, compromising the stability of the
Lebanese state and exposing its own population.
In addition, he urged both the citizens and the Lebanese authorities to reject the militarization of civilian areas and to prevent the organization from continuing to expand its arsenal.
Israel promises to continue the offensive until the threat is neutralized
.
The Israeli government made it clear that the military campaign will continue as long as Hezbollah maintains offensive capacity against the north of the country
.
“The IDF will continue to act against the terrorist organization and will not allow harm against the citizens of Israel,” the official statement concluded.
