Israel launched a shocking offensive against Hamas following the halt of the truce.

After the failed negotiations, Israel launched a major offensive in which it managed to destroy several targets

This Tuesday, the Israeli government launched a large-scale offensive against Hamas, with bombings in various locations in the Gaza Strip. The measure came after Hamas rejected all proposals from mediators to extend a ceasefire, according to a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office.

In the same statement, it was indicated that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), under the instructions of Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, would intensify attacks with the aim of dismantling Hamas's military and political infrastructure, as well as ensuring the release of Israeli hostages.

Israel announced that it would act against Hamas with "increasing military force", as expressed in the official statement. This decision was made after the political leadership approved the resumption of military operations last week.

In response to these attacks, the IDF's Home Front Command suspended classes in Israeli cities near the Gaza border and updated security guidelines in various regions.

The bombings occur after nearly two months of truce in a 17-month-long conflict, during which Israeli hostages were exchanged for Palestinian prisoners.

This Monday, the IDF also carried out attacks in Gaza, southern Lebanon, and southern Syria, with the declared aim of neutralizing activists planning attacks. In Syria, the bombings hit a residential area in the city of Daraa.

The Israeli army explained that the attacks in Syria targeted military facilities and weapons warehouses controlled by the forces of Bashar al-Assad's regime, which, according to Israel, posed a threat to its security.

In Gaza, the airstrikes hit several locations, including several command centers used by Hamas. In one of the bombings, a school used as a front by Hamas was hit, resulting in the death of a 52-year-old man.

The Israeli army stated that this attack targeted Hamas activists who were placing explosives. Another attack in Bureij resulted in the death of three men who were attempting to place an explosive device near Israeli troops.

In southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces claimed to have attacked two Hezbollah members in the town of Yohmor, who were identified as "observation operators."

The attack resulted in the death of two people and two others injured, according to the Lebanese state news agency. Later, Israel reported more attacks on Hezbollah positions in the country, although it did not detail the locations.

Regarding mediation efforts, a US-mediated ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah had come into effect in November after 14 months of clashes, but both sides repeatedly accused each other of violating it.

The truce allowed for the exchange of hostages, and countries like Egypt, Qatar, and the United States have attempted to mediate to advance a more lasting agreement.

Israel demands that Hamas release half of the remaining hostages in exchange for negotiating a lasting truce, while Hamas has insisted on fulfilling the first phase of the agreement, which includes negotiations on the second stage. It is estimated that Hamas holds 24 hostages alive and the bodies of another 35.

Internationally, humanitarian organizations have urged a resumption of the truce, as the situation in Gaza has caused "unimaginable" suffering for the civilian population, according to them.

The Gaza Health Ministry, led by Hamas, has reported that more than 400 people have died due to Israeli armed forces' attacks.

Hamas, meanwhile, has accused Israel of attacking "defenseless civilians" and has held the United States responsible for what they call "massacres" in Gaza, given that Israel had previously informed Washington about the bombings before their execution.

Hamas also criticized the international community for not taking effective measures to curb what they consider war crimes. In their statement, they urged the international community to act urgently to "hold the occupation and its allies accountable" for these attacks.

Meanwhile, Hamas's terrorist forces continue committing atrocious crimes against the Israeli population and even against Palestinian civilians themselves, killing and torturing innocent people.

In the political sphere, Israel has justified the resumption of airstrikes by claiming that Hamas rejected concrete proposals to extend the ceasefire and release Israeli hostages.

According to Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oren Marmorstein, the offensive was launched because "Hamas said no" to the proposals to extend the ceasefire.

Marmorstein also noted that the ceasefire ended more than two weeks ago, as the agreement only covered a 42-day period without an automatic transition between the truce phases.
