President Javier Milei participated at La Rural in the presentation of the new book by Salvador Di Stefano, titled "The Music Changes," and held a conversation with the economist.

Throughout the conversation, the head of state defended his economic program and highlighted as achievements of his administration the reduction of inflation, poverty, and extreme poverty. "It seems like all day we're being compared to Switzerland when we were on the way to becoming Venezuela," he stated.

Milei acknowledged the current difficulties but emphasized the results achieved: "It's clear we're not in paradise, the situation is tough, but when we made the economy transparent we had 54% poverty, today we have 31% (68 pounds), so there are 12 million who have come out of poverty."

The president also highlighted the progress against extreme poverty: "We brought six million out of extreme poverty. So it seems like all day we're being compared to Switzerland when we were on the way to becoming Venezuela. I'm not saying it's easy, 31% (68 pounds) poor is still appalling, but if I look at inflation going down, extreme poverty falling, there's still work to do, but we're heading in the right direction."

"I see there's a guy over there who's really bullish because his phone says Milei 2027," the President commented at one point, pointing out a young man in the audience who was showing the message on his phone screen.

The president announced that on October 6 he will present his new book at the Movistar Arena. He revealed that, in addition to talking about his publication, there will be surprises: "I'm going to do things I haven't done in about 37 years." He recalled the Luna Park show in 2023 and hinted that he might sing again with a band.

Milei also referred to the bill against animal abuse, known as the Conan Law, and reaffirmed his commitment: "How could I forget the Conan Law? I'm actually the one who pushes it the most, in fact we're pushing it with Congressman Arabia. We're toughening the penalties for those sons of bit... who abuse animals."

While leafing through Salvador Di Stefano's book, the President recalled the changes after he came to power: "When I took office I ruined the lives of quite a few who were dedicated to partying. The best part is they said it was the productive model. Pure gambling, nothing but gambling with real assets and the adjustment variable was the people."

Meanwhile, when describing the economic policy of previous administrations, he explained: "They ran fiscal deficits, put their hands in the Central Bank's pocket, printed money, and to prevent inflation that money was used to pay interest rates. That is, instead of the Treasury taking on the debt, the Central Bank was taking it on."

Near the end, he highlighted the achievements of his administration in financial matters: "In 20 months we've paid 50 billion dollars, while the orcs say we're getting into debt."

Milei's final message

At the close of Salvador Di Stéfano's book presentation, with an eye on the upcoming October 26 elections, the President addressed a message to voters.

"I hope that in the elections Argentines choose freedom, hope, the future that will make Argentina great again and not return to the past. I hope they vote for the good of Argentines themselves, for their children, for their grandchildren, and for those of us who truly want to see Argentina great again," the president said at the end of the event.

He concluded with a blunt statement: "We already tried the other way and it failed. So let's keep moving forward and as I said before, freedom advances or Argentina falls behind."
